Outside my window

It's a gray, blustery, rainy day.
I can't go outside and walk.
Sweet hubby has been home all week with back pain.

I think I'll pluck an apron off the rack on the back of my laundry room door and get a few things done.

I sweep, mop, dust, and clean the baths.
It's still raining and the wind's still blowing.

I read a while in my little reading corner under a bright lamp while pretending it's sunshine that I feel.

I get up and do a little Valentine decorating.
This brings more color to my little world.

Think I'll warm up a bowl of baked potato soup and cornbread for lunch.
After that, I'll take the suggestion my calendar is giving me and think about supper.
Maybe I can cook up a little comfort.
Breakfast food is always comforting on days like this.

  1. Sounds like a great day. When the weather is like that, I just like to cozy up on the couch in my pajamas and crochet or craft the day away. Weekend is coming so hopefully I will get some time for that. I cannot believe anonymous left such a rude comment on your previous post. Sounds to me like someone is jealous. Silly people in this world. Have a great rest of the week. Tammy

  3. I do go walk. I grabbed my rain thingy. It is not a coat. I cannot think of what they call it. Maybe the word is pancho. Anyway, I walked my 2 miles to keep on track with day 2 of my 6 week diet kickoff. The neighbors daffodils are blooming, but I was lost in thoughts of photography. Today, the blah gray weather is not a friend nor an enemy, but rather seems to be a innocent bystander waiting to see how I use my time.

  6. Love your aprons hanging on the door and love your valentine banner....very pretty. We don't really go much for Valentine's Day in Austalia and certainly not to the point of decorating the house but I just love looking at the way you do things in the USA. Hope your hubby's back improves SOON...I know what it's like...I'm housebound. Take care.

  7. Sherry, your valentine banner is so pretty. It's snowing here today.
Yes ask the doc for Tramadol. It works on my back. I have scoliosis and some days can't stand up. They work miracles for me too.
Hope it works for your hubby.
