Spring Dreaming

The weather has been teasing us here in Alabama.
Spring-like days last week. Sunny...warm...then rainy.
Cooler this week.
Even colder temps coming this weekend.

But I'm thinking of giving Spring a little push.
These fashions from Modcloth.com have me dreaming of warm, sunny Spring days spent with my sweet hubby in the great outdoors.
Picnics, flea markets, sight seeing...the list goes on and on.

Bobbin to the Beat Dress
Sunny Expedition Dress

I love the Modcloth website!
They even give suggestions on accessories to wear with their dresses.
Here's the description for the Sunny Expedition Dress above:

Before you head out into the wild and winding streets of the city, be prepared for an enjoyable voyage in this adorably simple khaki dress! Built from steadfast cotton-blend cloth, this classic dress boasts flattering bodice darts, hidden back zipper, and padded cap sleeves, and easily meets your need for a comfortably cute journey. Add a braided belt, chocolate riding boots, a stellar blazer, but don’t over-pack your tote, because the road ahead has many fun adventures!

Through the Front Gate Dress

I love the picture this description conjures up!
Strawberry Cobbler Dress

           Modcloth description:
You’ve always been known for your signature sweet - a confectionery conglomeration of strawberries and sugar - but at today’s cooking competition, you’re gaining recognition for your sweetly styled wardrobe as well. Clad in this cornflower blue and crimson cap-sleeve dress, you wow the crowd as you deftly whip up your dessert of choice. Featuring a print of white pindots and strawberry clusters, four floral buttons, and red and white polka-dot accents, this vintage-inspired, 100% cotton, A-line dress, which you've paired with navy heels and fruit-shaped earrings, will earn you a blue ribbon for style.

A Cherry Good Day Dress

Rally the Loops Dress
 And below, my personal favorite.

Fair and Lemon Square Dress

I could SO make these dresses!
I'm thinking it's time to go out a buy a pattern and sit myself down in front of my sewing machine.

I found this wonderful website just yesterday that has pics of dresses, mostly from Modcloth.com, and shows a sewing pattern that's comparable to the dress.
You might want to check it out:
Go to Sewweekly.com and click on Make This Look.

I'm so inspired!

I loved those shoes in the last pic so much that I spent half of yesterday surfing the net for a pair that favored them, but with just a little higher heel for this shorty.
And look what I found at Shoebuy.com!

Life-stride Quimby

They're on their way to me as I speak!
They were on sale too ~ 15% off!

They sent me a coupon for my Friends too for $10 off of a $50 purchase.
If you're interested just leave me a comment with your email address or send it to me personally (ahappyvalentine (at) hotmail (dot) com) and I'll have them send you the coupon.
(Yeah, there is a kick-back for me too.  If five friends make a purchase from them I get a $100 gift certificate! :)

Here's wishing you a sunny, Spring-like day!

  11. I haven't sewn a dress for myself in more than 20 years...once I started sewing for the kids, I stopped making things for myself. These dresses are so pretty...I am enjoying this inspiration!
