Want to know what I keep in my lovely rose-bedecked porcelain container? Please don't tell anyone, because it's my secret formula, but I will share it with my Pink Saturday friends...
It's my homemade antiperspirant and pink powder puff!
I delight in making everything that I possibly can from "scratch." Not only do I cook mostly from scratch, but I make many of my own personal products including my antiperspirant. I have to admit I have tried many, many different recipes over the years before finding this very simple, but effective combination:
1 cup baking soda
1 cup cornstarch
a few drops tea tree oil
Combine in a bowl and mix well. Pour into a beautiful container and make yourself a pink fleece powder puff adorned with a silky ribbon handle. I promise you will smile every time you apply your new antiperspirant. The pure ingredients are body-friendly. I even brush the powder on any itchy insect bites I may have for instant relief.
So, how about you? Do you make any of your own personal products? I would love to hear about your homemade experiments... the triumphs and the flops.
Be sure to go by Beverly's blog for more Pink Saturday fun.

Happy Pinks sweet Sherry..and have a beautiful weekend.
Hi Sherry, I must say, I have never, ever heard anyone say they make their own antiperspirant. That is so interesting! How long does it last? I do make some of my own cleaning products, but simple things using olive oil, lemon juice and vinegar. Hmmm, I might have to think about this antiperspirant thing. YOu have it stored so beautifully. :) Have a super Saturday, Tammy

I make all of my soap and have started making my own laundry detergent. The powder puff is gorgeous! I will be a new follower, too...♥ your log, Gerry
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday (a week late!)~what a pretty pink puff and container for your homemade anti-perspirant. Great idea! I have all the ingredients...and I use tea tree oil myself for various uses. Do you suppose I could also add a few drops of lavender oil???
ReplyDeleteOh Sherry...I'm so in love with your pink flowered porcelain container! I'm also a powder puff kinda gal and your holder is beautiful. Now I'll be on the lookout for one! Happy Pink Saturday, fondly, Roberta

ReplyDeleteSherry, thank you so much for posting this! I have been wanting something like this because I know deodorant isn't good for you. I make my own laundry detergent and love it! I have tried making dishwashing detergent, but less satisfactory results. I do think home made is better! Twyla
