Dear Anonymous,

You have left me two comments lately that were meant to hurt.  I must admit, you accomplished your mission.  My first reaction was shock, then hurt, then the very unChristian reaction of anger.  I must admit that I typed out a hurtful remark to zing back to you when I read your first comment from a few days ago.  But before I could hit "Publish Post" I heard a Voice whispering to my heart that that wasn't the way of Love.

After today's hurtful comment (which I immediately deleted) I didn't even think about replying to you.  Instead, every time I've thought about your comment today, I've said a prayer for you.  I hope you've felt God's love for you today.  He does love you.  He cares about what you're going through.  He cares about your hurts.   If you just ask, God will wrap you in His arms of love and give you comfort for your heart.

Please let me know if there's any way I can help you.  In the meantime, you will continue to be in my prayers.
                                                                 Love, Sherry

  1. What a fabulous way to handle tihs 'person?' Sherry. They probably won't like God keeping His eye on them. So sorry this happened to you. Another gal a week ago or so had a similar incident that was very hurtful.

I say this, if you don't like a person or what they say ... then SCOOT ALONG YOUR WAY!!!!!

Have a beautiful weekend Sherry. Really proud of you.

  5. Classy post - shows maturity and true Christian spirit!

I on the other hand think to myself what a boring life Ms. Anonymous must have if she gets her jollies making snarky comments on a cute blog like yours!!!!

  6. Oh dear sorry you were hurt by some1 and their mean spirited comments. I DO NOT KNOW what anyone could possibly find on your blog to be mean to you for. Prayer is our best tool and I hope the 'meanie' is reading all of this to see how christian compassion and love handles situations like these. PTL and may GOD continue to bless you.

  10. It's just beyond me why people do such things. I can't imagine sitting around thinking of ways to mess with others. What a sad life. I am sorry someone hurt you but you handled it with grace and charity. Have a super sweet Sunday and week. xo

  11. Your answer to anonymous is just superb, kind and generous. I was so shocked to read what happened. And sad that I couldn't reach you last night as your blog was down for awhile. I'm glad you're here and that we're new blogger friends. Thanks for being an inspiration already!

  12. Hey Sherry, don't you give anonymous another thought. Like I said before, that person is obviously just jealous. Envy causes people to do hateful things that have nothing to do with you but their own unhappiness. Honestly, how anyone derives pleasure from leaving nasty comments is beyond me. They are the devil in disguise so you just keep praying and smiling. Hugs and blessings, Tammy

  13. P.S. I wouldn't even mention anonymous on your blog again as they are obviously getting a kick out of it. If they comment again, just say a prayer and delete, delete, delete. :)

  15. When I saw your post and then saw your site was down last night, I was so worried that you'd shut down your blog. So glad that isn't the case. I look forward to your posts and would miss them if they went away.

  17. I had to come post again, because when I reread my post, it sounded as if I was claiming to be the hurtful anonymous. I only meant that I no longer will post and sign anonymous because I could not find my password. I love you. Keep letting the sweet smiles shine through your day. You are awesome.

  18. I am so sorry Sherry. I always assume "those people" are damaged and hurting. It makes it a little easier. Dealing with my own hurt right now- it is harder when it is family- then it is harder not to take it personally because they know you. Wishing you the peace that passes all understanding, Angela

  19. Way to take the high road Sherry! I have no idea on this Earth why some people say and do things to hurt others, especially under the guise of anonymity. As my mom used to say to me when I was jealous of someone else, "I believe the green eyed monster bit you!". What a gracious lady you are!

  24. What is the MATTER with people...I am so surprised when someone is unkind to someone they don't even know. I assume this person is just out there in blogger world, and not an acquaintance. Your blog is just wonderful, and I don't know why anyone would think otherwise. Someone like that needs to find something....probably the Lord. I too will pray for them in hopes that if they find God's love, they will only have love for others as well!

  25. Hugs to you for being the better person!! Someone who does that just has a miserable life with nothing better to do.

  26. Sherry,
You know what grace is and how to show it! Remember what Eleanor Roosevelt said," No one can insult you without your permission".
God bless you! I'm your newest follower! Love, Linda
