Whimsy and I need your advice

I'm thinking of changing the name of my blog.
Why?
Because I think it may get overlooked because people think it is a blog only about Valentines.

The problem?
I don't know what to call it.
"Experts" say the name should reflect the content of the blog.
That would make mine the: cooking, cleaning, teaching, whining, laughing, sewing, photography, random thoughts blog.

I would love to hear your thoughts.
Have you changed the name of your blog?
How has it worked for you?
Do you have a suggestion for a new name for my blog?
All input is appreciated!

  1. Just insert another word that would be catchy if you feel you should change it ...actually I like it the way it is.

    Have a beautiful week.

  2. Good Morning, Sherry! I understand your want to change your blog name. There have been many times we felt like we were looked over because our blog name isn't very expressive of what we are really all about. We decided because the url will always be the same, just to keep it. Also there are so many blogs now it would be hard to come up with something original and all your own. That's one nice thing about your's. It is uniquely you! I'll keep watching to see what you do! Have a wonderful day! Twyla

  3. I think you should keep the name as it is! You do all of the things you mentioned in the spirit of A Happy Valentine (with a cheerful heart)!

When I think of A Happy Valentine, I see your smiling face and I connect the two to your posts.

    (just my two-cents)

  5. I also agree to keep it but you could add "all year" or "throughout the year" onto the end of it?? :)

  6. Hi there Sherry from Alabama:) Thanks for stopping by and leaving your sweet comment!

I named mine theycallmeganky because THEY call me ganky:) My oldest Granddaughter named me that and now everyone calls me that!

You could change it to something like "smiles from my heart"! Still keeping with the Valentine theme:)

Have a blessed day my friend, HUGS!

  7. Hi Sherry,

Don't change it because you have to .. change it only if you want to. Personally, I love the way you have titled your blog. It is so reflective, meaningful and positive.

    Have a great day.

  8. Actually I like the reason why you named it as such. Maybe you should keep it? I have never changed mine....Christine

  10. I agree, Sherry, that you should only change the name if you really want to. My Mom changed the name of her blog several times and I think that caused some confusion with some of her followers. I like the name she finally settled on, though and hope she keeps it (Living Life on Main Street). I think you may get overlooked some because peoiple think you are only about Valentines Day, especially if they open the blog and see the header picture which might reinforce that. If you do change your name, have it reflect YOU and then stick with it. Also, maybe a change in the header picture two or three times a year would be good, too. But, if you stay A Happy Valentine I will remain always your happy follower! You have to be comfortable with what you are doing, and people should like you for who you are!

  13. I think you should keep the name. And be sure to carefully choose your tags ~ that'll help draw people to your blog. Oh, and Facebook too ~ every time I post a new blog I announce it on FB and that helps me bring in traffic. Good luck ~ I'm a faithful follower:)

  15. Hi Sherry,
I saw your blog listed on someone else's blog list and specifically went to yours since I thought your name reflected someone optimistic, cheerful, loving and giving. I was drawn to it right away precisely because of the name! Your qualities and sincerity of heart shine through no matter what you write about. I will continue to check in no matter what you call it but I am happy to have found your delightful blog.

  17. Well, I made a comment about changing the name without looking at the other comments... posted it and then discovered that my daughter had already told my story, sort of....so I deleted my comment.

I like the 'Sherry from Alabama' idea and mentioned it in my deleted comment. I like the Happy Valentine but like Marie said, change your header picture to reflect more of what you are about.

Best of luck. I'll keep watching regardless of what the title is.

  18. First of all, I'm definitely going to try out your crockpot lasagna. It sounds good, and I use my crockpot quite often, so this will be something new to try! I really love your blog name. I don't think I'd change it. I can see why you might consider it, but I like the sort of random way it fits your blog. Thanks for dropping by!

  19. I've never changed the name of my blog, but it took me a long time to settle on a name to begin with. I think I agree with the others - I'd keep it. It looks like you're getting quite a few followers (I'm your newest!) It's different and when I read your blog description, it made perfect sense to me!
