My Monday was a day filled with simple pleasures.
A basket of love on the table and sunshine streaming through the window.
My "new" thrifted sweater soaking in its sweet-smelling rinse water.
My sparkly new vanity top in our little bathroom.
Visiting my clothesline to hang out my freshly washed sweater in the warm sunshine.
I love everything about my new sweater; the cuddly softness, the cotton candy color, the rose buttons I replaced the old yellowed ones with. And especially the label. Old labels look like a work of art and love to me. Not the stamped in or rough, prickly ones we must endure now, but the soft, carefully embroidered ones of yesteryear. What pleasure I get for a mere $1.79.
And now, on this glorius new day, I'm going to slip on my new pink friend and take a happy trip to the grocery store.

What an uplifting post and a beautiful, happy sweater. Great find. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving such a sweet comment. I'm following you now! Rebecca
ReplyDeleteThey just don't make anything that can compare with a vintage sweater! The attention to detail is so much better, and the tags are always interesting, like you said. You can tell that they're well made, because they're still around after all these years!
ReplyDeleteHappy REDnesday!

What a lovely sweater and those buttons are so cute.
ReplyDeleteA sun-dried sweater, fresh with the scent of the sun! Heavenly!
ReplyDeletePAINT MY DAY RED!
A seeker of scarlet, they say,
Is likely to savor the day
If painted in red
Or ruby—instead
Of shades of monotonous grey!

We can find love in a lot of different ways and places. Sometimes we need to look a little harder. You found lots to love today.
ReplyDeleteThat is a perfect pink find:)
ReplyDeleteVery sweet and pretty. You will surely be wrapped in happiness when you wear it.
ReplyDeleteFound this site by accident (MSP link) and love it. Do you design "vintage" logos for businesses? How would it work?
ReplyDeleteMe, again. sellejenny@AOL.com I don't even really know what a blog is or how to contact you, but I need a logo for our new, small antiques and collectibles business, and I think it might be fate that I found this site because it (clip art, etc.) is so much like I envisioned for us. Let me know how to e-mail you, OK?
ReplyDeleteYour sweater is such a pretty color, lovin' the great buttons too-enjoy:@)
ReplyDeleteLove the rose butons!

Wonderful little pleasures and pretties. I remember John Robert Powers. I didn't know it was also a clothing company...I remember it was a modeling school in the area I grew up in.
